Changes to the way we manage requests for private (non-NHS) work
The practice needs to advise you that we are changing the way we manage requests for private (non-NHS) work. This would include most letters or forms you request your doctor to complete. For example, this would include forms and letters in relation to blue badges, student disability, employers, fitness to fly, disability forms, fitness to drive, holiday cancellations, firearms requests, DVLA examinations, to whom it may concern letters – (this is not an exhaustive list). Due to the number of items that are requested and not collected we are now going to ask patients for payment before we commence work. In addition, our charges have been increased to reflect the true costs of delivering this service. We recognise this might be difficult for some and we apologise for this.
Please be assured that you will have a full understanding of any fee you are required to pay before you give us the instruction to carry out your request. Any request will take up to 30 days to complete.
